About this opportunity
My KoKo is building something that does not yet exist at commercial scale: a coconut water brand that brings the real experience, the taste, the ritual, the serve, to consumers everywhere, in every channel. The technology behind the product is cutting-edge and first of its kind, currently in development. The markets are identified. The commercial architecture is designed. The founding team is being assembled now.
This is an invitation to join that team. Not once the product is live, not once the brand is established, but now, at the moment everything is being built.
The role starts as Product manager. The title of Product director is not given, it is earned when the scope is fully owned, the team is built around you, and the product speaks for itself in every market we enter. That moment comes faster than you think if the drive is there.
Read what follows carefully. The equity section especially.
The role
Title at start
Product manager. Collaborating directly with the founder.
Title progression
Product director: awarded when the full scope is owned, the product team is in place under your direction, and the product universe is coherently built across all active markets. Target window: 12 to 18 months from start date, assessed jointly.
What you build
- The full product range from brief to shelf: all formats across retail, hospitality, and online channels, plus adjacent product categories and future extensions
- Packaging creation and logistics optimisation. Every format must be engineered for shelf, transport, and the end consumer simultaneously
- Market-by-market adaptation and regulatory compliance: EU, Japan, South Korea, USA, Middle East. Each market has its own rules, its own retail logic, and its own consumer expectations
- The extended product universe: coconut-based food products, activated carbon applications, and the cosmetics range (creams, oils) as it develops
- POS and brand experience materials: sales displays, QR card inserts, goodies and merchandise. Designed internally, co-developed with the production team, and produced in China
- Cost control across all sourced and produced items: packaging, product formats, merchandise, and marketing materials must always be benchmarked across a minimum of 10 suppliers. The best commercial margin is protected at the product level, not just at the sales level. Every sourcing decision must be justified against at least three competing quotes
- Production cost alignment: working closely with the factory team to ensure that packaging formats, fill volumes, and material choices are always optimised for production efficiency and lowest possible unit cost. Until a dedicated production manager or director is in place, this cost discipline sits with this role
- The end-to-end brand experience: from the physical serve in a hospitality venue to the digital touchpoint the QR code leads to
- Supplier relationships in China for packaging, marketing materials, and production items, primarily via WeChat
- Commercial offer documentation: equipping the sales and marketing team with the right tools to present and sell the product correctly in every channel
- Market research and consumer data aggregation, in close collaboration with the marketing lead
- Team building: identifying when a new hire is needed, drafting job offers in collaboration with the HR manager, running interviews, and making the call on who joins. You build the product team around you as the company grows
What you must master fast
The cost structure of every product we sell is built at the sourcing stage. Packaging, product formats, merchandise, and all marketing materials produced in China must be systematically benchmarked. Minimum 10 suppliers compared before any order is placed. This is not a task that can wait for a specialist. Until a production manager or director joins the team, cost control and supplier discipline on everything produced in China sits with this role. We will support the learning, but the mastery must come quickly. The commercial margin of the entire business depends on it.
Early-phase reality
The team is small to start. The role will carry cross-functional responsibilities beyond pure product: helping the commercial and social media teams understand and communicate the product correctly until dedicated people are in place for each function. That scope narrows as the brand grows and the team builds around it.
Compensation
My KoKo offers compensation built to outperform the market, not match it. The base salary is competitive and reviewed annually with no ceiling defined. It steps up automatically after the first year and continues to grow with the scope and the results.
The contract structure is your choice: employment (in jurisdictions where social taxes are reasonable, like Hong Kong) or freelance contractor in any jurisdiction.
This is the part that matters most. A meaningful share of the company capital is on the table, vesting progressively over four years with a one-year cliff.
At a conservative valuation multiple on global revenue, this stake is worth a very, very life-changing amount. We are building a ten-figure business (eleven, maybe). The people who join now and build it with us share in that. The equity is for people who are here to build something, not to collect a grant and leave. We will find a way to make it liquid when the time comes.
Working conditions

What we are looking for
- Minimum 3 to 4 years in product management or product development in food, beverage, consumer goods, or retail
- Experience taking a product from brief to shelf, including packaging creation and regulatory compliance
- Comfortable working directly with suppliers in China via WeChat: sample review, spec follow-up, production briefing
- Rigorous on cost: you benchmark systematically, you justify every sourcing decision, and you protect margin at the product level
- Strong data skills: spreadsheets, AI-assisted workflows, and market analysis come naturally to you
- Able to work across multiple product categories and markets simultaneously without losing precision
- Based in or open to Hong Kong; full mobility for travel across Asia and Europe
- English at full professional level; French is a strong advantage
